Times Registers Third Win in Himalayan Java National Basketball League 2026

Kathmandu – In the Himalayan Java National Basketball League (HJNB) 2026, Times International Club secured their third victory.

The match held on Tuesday at the covered hall of Dashrath Rangashala in Tripureshwor saw Times triumph over Solo Basketball Club by a margin of 88-75.

Times established dominance early, leading 23-12 in the first quarter and expanding the margin to 24-16 in the second quarter, ending the first half ahead 47-28.

Despite efforts from Solo to stage a comeback, they were unable to overturn the deficit. Solo took leads of 23-20 in the third quarter and 24-21 in the fourth, but ultimately could not avoid defeat.

Times’ captain Sadish Pradhan was the top scorer with 22 points and earned the Man of the Match honors.

With three wins and one loss from four games, Times accumulated 7 points and now stand second in the rankings. Government team Tribhuvan Army leads the table due to better tiebreak criteria despite equal points.

In Monday night’s game, Army earned their third win by defeating Kirtipur 92-78.

Army posted quarter scores of 31-23, 28-10, 22-19, and 11-26. Nischal Maharjan stood out with 22 points for the team.

Organized by the Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA), the second edition of HJNB League features eight teams competing in a double round-robin format, with a total of 56 games scheduled.

Following the league stage, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will consist of a first qualifier match between the first- and second-ranked teams, and an eliminator match between the third- and fourth-ranked teams. The loser of the first qualifier and winner of the eliminator will then face off in the second qualifier. The final will be contested by the winners of the first and second qualifiers.
