Apple Acquires Video Editing Software Maker Motion VFX

Technology giant Apple has acquired Motion VFX, a renowned company known for creating plugins and templates used in video editing.

The financial terms of the deal, announced on Monday, have been kept confidential. Headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, Motion VFX has been developing high-quality visual effects for Apple’s Final Cut Pro for the past 15 years.

This acquisition is understood to be a strategic move by Apple to expand its services business.

Earlier this year in January, Apple launched a new subscription package called Creator Studio, which includes applications such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro.

It is expected that Apple will integrate Motion VFX’s technology into this subscription package.

This integration will make Apple’s platform more appealing to video editors and is anticipated to enable direct competition with Adobe Premiere Pro.

Currently, services contribute more than 26 percent to Apple’s total revenue.
