Surendra Pandey’s View: No Place for Social Media in UML Party Affairs

March 16, Kathmandu – Nepali Congress UML leader Surendra Pandey has stated that while it is reasonable to ask whether party matters should be discussed in meetings or on social media, there is no place for social media within UML. On Tuesday night, Pandey commented via Facebook that only UML meetings are the legitimate platform for issuing directives.

“We have repeatedly presented concrete plans for improvement and highlighted weaknesses within official party forums and meetings,” Pandey wrote. “However, instead of seriously listening to and discussing these voices, they were confined to a corner labeled ‘note of dissent.'” He pointed out that when there is no place to listen or improve in meetings, their effectiveness comes into question.

“When meetings become mere formalities for listening and issuing orders, wisdom dies and arrogance takes its place,” he added.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the future UML should not be driven by conspiracies behind closed doors or plans by a few individuals but rather move forward by reflecting the sentiments of the general cadre and adopting modern working methods.
