Second Day of National Independent Party Orientation Begins with Yoga and Meditation, Concluding with Chairman Ravi Lamichhane’s Remarks

March 18, Kathmandu – The second day of the National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party – RASWAPA) MPs’ orientation program started with a session on yoga and meditation. The program commenced on Tuesday at Hotel Tulip in Lalitpur.
According to today’s agenda, the program will conclude with closing remarks by Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane.
MPs elected through both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation electoral systems are participating in the event. The orientation aims to provide them with clear knowledge and develop shared perspectives on parliamentary practices, legislative procedures, policy formulation, the role of parliamentary committees, budget and law-making processes, as well as on establishing effective relationships with the public in their constituencies, RASWAPA has stated.
Furthermore, the program will educate MPs on Nepal’s constitutional arrangements, parliamentary operation systems, legislative processes, standards of good governance and transparency, policy analysis, ethical conduct for representatives, communication, and public accountability. It will also foster a collective understanding of the party’s policy priorities, strategic directions, and measures for effective coordination both inside and outside the parliament.
Who is Leading Today’s Training?
As per the pre-established schedule, former Secretary Dr. Toya Narayan Gyawali will conduct training on “Government Operation Process: Planning and Budgeting” from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM.
From 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM, another former Secretary, Pratap Kumar Pathak, will provide training on “Good Governance: Concepts and Practices.”
Following that, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti and Central Member RK Dhungana will present on “The Party and MPs’ Relationship: The Role of MPs in the New Political Culture, Code of Conduct, and Minimum Commitments.”
Afterwards, participants will engage in group work and presentations focused on setting agenda priorities.
The closing session will begin after 12 noon, facilitated by Pratibha Rawal and Manish Jha, who will assist in presentations on agenda priority setting.
Thank you speeches on behalf of the participants will be delivered by MPs Prashant Upreti and Khima Bik.
Finally, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, Chairman Ravi Lamichhane will share his views on the party’s strategy, vision, and policy priorities.
The orientation program is scheduled to conclude at 1:00 PM, followed by refreshments, as per RASWAPA’s pre-planned agenda.
