Trump States the US Will Not Use the Strait of Hormuz, Considers Holding Users Accountable

March 17, Kathmandu – US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will not use the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important maritime passage controlled by Iran. In a statement made on the social media platform Truth on Wednesday, Trump declared that the US would refrain from using the Hormuz Strait and suggested that any country choosing to use it would bear full responsibility.

“What happens if we dismantle the remaining infrastructure of the terrorist state Iran and hand over responsibility for the Strait to the countries that use it? This is something I am considering,” Trump said. “We will not use it; others will.”

Trump added that this stance is intended to compel some of America’s “slow allies” to become active more quickly.

In a previous Truth post, Trump labeled Iran as the “world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism” and pledged that the US would soon put an end to all activities supporting terrorism.

Following military strikes by the US and Israel, Iran imposed a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, escalating a global energy supply crisis.

Earlier, Trump sought assistance from NATO allies and China to lift Iran’s blockade on the Strait, but with no country stepping forward, this latest stance from Trump has emerged.
