March 17, Dhangadhi – The final of the fourth edition of the inter-municipality SPA Kailali Pride League, held at Fapla Sports Ground in Dhangadhi, will see Budhiganga Municipality of Bajura competing against Punarbas Municipality B from Kanchanpur for the title.

In the first semifinal played on Wednesday, Budhiganga defeated Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City of Kailali, and in the second semifinal, Punarbas Municipality B overcame Ghodaghodi Municipality, securing their spots in the final.

Chasing a target of 146 set by Budhiganga, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City was bowled out for 114 runs in 18.2 overs. Sunny Bik top-scored with 41 runs but could not lead his team to victory. Surendra Pant scored 24 and Prakash Pande added 18, while the rest of the batsmen failed to reach double digits.

For Budhiganga, Saurya Shrestha took 3 wickets, Nagraj Singh 2, and Deepak Rokaya, Rahul Bhandari, Madan Shah, and Subodh Air took one wicket each.

Batting first after winning the toss, Budhiganga posted 145 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Subodh Air was the top scorer with 47 runs off 41 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes. Deepak Rokaya scored an aggressive unbeaten 37 off 17 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. Dinesh Wad scored 19, Sunil Chand 17, and Abhishek Thapa 12 runs.

Sunny Bik and Prakash Jung Karki took two wickets each for Dhangadhi, while captain Ayub Chand, Bhupej Joshi, and Vishal Chhetri claimed one wicket each. Subodh Air of Budhiganga was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.

In the second semifinal, Punarbas Municipality B defeated Ghodaghodi Municipality by 35 runs. Chasing a target of 151 runs, Ghodaghodi was all out for 116 in 20 overs.

Harish Basnet scored a valiant 43 runs off 17 balls at the end, including 3 fours and 4 sixes, but it was not enough to secure victory. Captain Tek Rawat and Dinesh Rawat each scored 20, and Nishan Regmi made 15 runs.

Sachin Bhatt took 4 wickets for Punarbas Municipality B, while Ashok Dhami and Naren Bhatt took 2 wickets each. Sher Mall and Basant Singh Karki took one wicket apiece.

Batting first after winning the toss, Punarbas Municipality B scored 151 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Abhishek Pal scored 41 runs, captain Narayan Joshi made 37, Naren Bhatt contributed 31, and Deepak Bohara added 25 runs.

Rudra Raj Acharya took 2 wickets for Ghodaghodi, while Harish Basnet, Ayush Dwaria, and Rupesh Thapa claimed one wicket each.

Sachin Bhatt was adjudged Man of the Match for his impactful performance.

The final match is scheduled to start at 1:30 PM on Thursday, according to the organizers.

Organized by the Kailali District Cricket Association, the tournament began on Falgun 28 and featured teams from 12 local units of Sudurpashchim Province.

The winner of the tournament will receive NPR 300,000 and an attractive trophy, while the runner-up will receive NPR 100,000. Additionally, the best player will be awarded NPR 20,000 along with a trophy; the best bowler and best batsman will each receive NPR 15,000 and a trophy; and the emerging player will get NPR 10,000 and a trophy.
