Gokul Baskota Advises Leaders to Remain Silent for Three Months as Public Trusts Rastriya Swatantra Party

March 18, Kathmandu – CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota has stated that the public has placed their trust in the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raspwa) this time, and has advised political leaders to refrain from speaking for the next three months. On Wednesday, Baskota posted on Facebook emphasizing that since the party elected by the people will govern no matter what, it deserves respect.

“Raspwa won the election. How they manage governance is their concern. It is pointless for others to comment during the first three months after the new government has begun working,” Baskota wrote. “The public was united before, is united now, and will remain united. The only difference is that this time, they have chosen different representatives.”

He also noted that the public has trusted the promises made by Raspwa. “To add, the people believed their commitments, including the pledge to stop unnecessary bureaucracy,” Baskota added.

Following the election results, accusations and political rivalries have been unfolding among CPN-UML leaders.
