March 19, Rolpa – Umit Budhamagar, a ninth-grade student from Korala-5 in Parivartan Rural Municipality, has successfully crafted a gun.
Budhamagar studies at Bal Kalyan Secondary School in Upabang, Kurali-1 of Parivartan Rural Municipality. The 15-year-old spent two weeks constructing the gun, which he named M-14.
Although sourcing materials was challenging, Budhamagar explained that he used unused or readily available items to build the gun. He stated that the purpose of the gun is to scare away birds. “While making the gun, I combined wood, iron pipes, a battery, and bamboo,” he said.
The gun can be fired using a matchstick as a trigger. After successfully building the gun from homemade components, Budhamagar was congratulated with garlands and tika by Maite Budha Magar, the ward chairperson of Parivartan Rural Municipality-1, Praveenkumar Budhamagar, chairman of the school management committee, school principal Purnabahadur Wali, as well as teachers and security personnel at the school.
This municipality occasionally makes headlines. Earlier, in 2023, Khushi Budhamagar from Pachhabang-4 Gaudera village gained national recognition after passing seven different public service exams within ten months.
