Certificate Distribution Process Begins for Proportional Representation Parliamentarians (With Photos)


March 19, Kathmandu – The process of distributing certificates to 110 parliamentarians elected under the proportional representation system in the recent House of Representatives election held on February 21 has commenced.

The certificate distribution ceremony was held at the Election Commission, where members elected through proportional representation from six different parties were presented with their certificates.

The Commission had released the list of 110 proportional representation MPs last Monday. According to the published data, 57 members were elected from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa), 20 from the Nepali Congress, 16 from the CPN-UML, 9 from the Nepal Communist Party, and 4 each from the Labor Culture Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Rastriya Prajatantra Party – RPP).

Following the certificate distribution today, the Election Commission is preparing to submit the comprehensive report, including the results of the House of Representatives election 2082, to President Ram Chandra Paudel.

Once the comprehensive report along with the election results is submitted to the President, according to Article 76 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2072, the pathway will be opened to invite the formation of the government.
