Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has issued a warning that Europe is on the brink of war while making it clear that his country will under no circumstances participate in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Addressing an election rally in the city of Dunaújváros, Orbán accused the leadership of the European Union of promoting the conflict.
He stated, “They are currently sending weapons and money to Ukraine, but later they have already agreed to send European soldiers there.”
Campaigning for the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12, Orbán committed that if his party is victorious, Hungary will stay out of this war.
He asserted that Hungary will neither send weapons to Ukraine nor deploy its own money or soldiers. Amid rising military tensions across Europe, Orbán’s statements underscore further internal disagreements within the European Union.
Hungary has previously used its veto power multiple times to block military aid to Ukraine.
