Krishnamaya Timilsena, 47, from Chandanath Municipality-9, lost her life when a landslide struck while she was digging soil for building a house.
The landslide occurred near Uthile of Chandanath Municipality-9 around 11 a.m. on Thursday morning. Krishnamaya was injured and later died during treatment, according to Shalikram Khanal, spokesperson for Jumla Police.
Both Krishnamaya and 40-year-old Tara Gharti were buried in the landslide while digging soil for house construction. They were promptly rescued and taken to the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences for treatment. However, Krishnamaya succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Tara Gharti has since been treated, discharged, and returned home.
