Putin Declares Moscow Will Remain a Loyal Ally to Tehran on Iranian New Year


March 21, Kathmandu – Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Russia has always been a loyal and reliable ally to Iran. On Saturday, while extending greetings to Iranian leaders on the occasion of ‘Nowruz’ (the Iranian New Year), Putin made this declaration.

“Moscow will always be a loyal and trustworthy ally to Tehran,” stated a Kremlin press release. President Vladimir Putin sent New Year wishes to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing confidence that the Iranian people will overcome difficult challenges with dignity.

Earlier, Putin criticized the United States and Israel for their attacks on Iran, stating that they have brought widespread destruction throughout West Asia. “The United States and Israel have triggered a major global energy crisis,” Putin remarked.
