The Ministry of Defence in Qatar has reported that six people died in a military helicopter crash. The Qatari military helicopter went down on Sunday morning in the country’s maritime area due to a technical malfunction. The ministry also clarified that this incident is not related to the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the Qatari military helicopter was on a routine duty when the crash occurred, reportedly caused by a technical fault. “Out of seven individuals involved in the search operation, six have been found,” stated the Ministry of Defence in a release posted on the social media platform X.
The ministry confirmed that the search for Captain (Pilot) Saeed Nasser Samekh of the Qatari Armed Forces is ongoing. Qatar has been affected by Iranian attacks in recent weeks, including an assault last week on the country’s main gas plant by Iran.
