March 21, Kathmandu – APF Club has commenced the PM Cup men’s national cricket tournament with a victorious start. On Sunday, at the Upper Mulapani Cricket Ground, APF defeated Bagmati Province by 71 runs.
Chasing a target of 272 runs set by APF, Bagmati was bowled out for only 200 runs in 45.1 overs.
For Bagmati, Bibek Magar scored the highest with 34 runs. Talented player Subas Khatri contributed 27 runs. Towards the end, Subas and Rijan Dhakal put together a 53-run partnership, with Rijan remaining unbeaten on 20 runs.
Earlier, Uttam Magar scored 26 and Shivam Tiwari added 25 runs. Ishan Pande contributed 17 runs. APF bowlers Abhishes Gautam and Rohit Paudel equally took 3 wickets each.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, APF posted a total of 271 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs, thanks to Asif Sheikh’s century and Sandeep Jora’s half-century.
Asif scored 114 runs off 105 balls, hitting 14 fours and 3 sixes, while Jora contributed 52 runs.
On the Bagmati bowling side, Rijan Dhakal claimed 4 wickets, Ishan Pande took 2 wickets, and captain Sandeep Lamichhane along with Sonu Devkota took 1 wicket each.
