Nepal began its campaign in the SAFF U-20 Championship held in the Maldives with a strong performance, defeating Bhutan 2-1. Sujan Dangol and Subash Bam each scored a goal for Nepal, while Bhutan’s Dendup Gyalsen netted a consolation goal. Sujan opened the scoring in the fifth minute, giving Nepal an early lead. In the 52nd minute of the second half, Subash extended the lead with a second goal. Although Dendup pulled one back for Bhutan in the 83rd minute, Nepal maintained their advantage and secured the win. Nepal will face Sri Lanka in their second match on Wednesday.
