Helicopter Under Captain Thapa’s Command Goes Missing in Dolakha’s Lapcha Region

A Mustang Air helicopter, piloted by Captain Suraj Thapa, has been out of contact since midday Friday while flying over the Lapcha area in Dolakha. There were five people on board, including the pilot. Initial reports suggest the helicopter may have made an emergency landing somewhere in the Lapcha region due to adverse weather conditions. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has confirmed that the helicopter, registered as ‘9N-ANO,’ is currently missing. Kathmandu, 13 Chaitra.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal reported that the Mustang Air helicopter, commanded by Captain Suraj Thapa, lost contact upon reaching Lapcha in Dolakha. The Lapcha area lies southeast of Langtang. The helicopter, registered as ‘9N-ANO’ and piloted by Captain Thapa, was carrying four passengers in addition to the pilot. According to CAAN officials, the helicopter went out of contact after arriving at Lapcha. “According to the latest information, the helicopter appears to have made an emergency landing somewhere in the Lapcha area due to bad weather conditions,” said an official from Tribhuvan International Airport, adding that this information has yet to be verified. Ronan Lamichhane, Managing Director of Mustang Air, confirmed that there were five people aboard the helicopter, including the pilot.
