
March 27, Kathmandu – An avalanche in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India has resulted in the deaths of seven people. The incident occurred near the Zoji La Pass along the Srinagar-Leh highway.
Five others were injured in the accident. According to news agency PTI, the avalanche took place on Friday afternoon near the Zero Point and Mini Marg sections of Zoji La Pass.
This route is part of the national highway connecting Jammu and Kashmir with Ladakh. Due to the avalanche, several vehicles were trapped under the snow. According to reports, “As the vehicles were passing through this high-altitude road, a massive amount of snow suddenly descended, burying many vehicles.”
