March 29, Kathmandu – Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians will play their historic 300th T20 match today.

The team will mark this milestone by facing Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening. With this match, Mumbai Indians will become the first franchise to reach 300 T20 matches.

Since the IPL’s inception in 2008, Mumbai Indians have been consistent participants. To date, they have won the IPL title five times.

Mumbai claimed the championship in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Since then, the team has not secured another title.

Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai boasts experienced players including former India captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.

Outside of franchises, the Pakistan national cricket team and Somerset County Cricket Club have also played over 300 T20 matches.

Another IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, is also nearing the 300-match milestone.
