March 30, Kathmandu: Fakhar Zaman may face disciplinary action in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 on charges of altering the condition of the ball, categorized as a Level 3 offense. The penalty could entail a suspension of at least one match and up to two matches. The incident occurred during Sunday’s game between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.
At the start of the final over, umpires inspected the ball and suspected it had been tampered with. They subsequently introduced a new ball. According to the rules, Karachi Kings received 5 penalty runs, significantly influencing the match outcome. Chasing the target, Karachi found it easier to secure the win. The match referee will now investigate the incident, and Fakhar Zaman will be given an opportunity to present his defense against the allegations. Additionally, Hasan Ali of Karachi was fined 10 percent of his match fee for an aggressive celebration after taking a wicket.
