Dalai Lama Condemns Global Conflicts, Emphasizes That Violence Breeds Only More Violence

March 30, Kathmandu – The exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has called for an end to wars occurring worldwide. Speaking on Tuesday via video message, he stated, “Violence only begets more violence,” urging everyone to pursue dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect.
“We all agree that Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, or any spiritual tradition across the world always conveys the same message – love, compassion, tolerance, and self-discipline,” the Dalai Lama stated.
“History repeatedly shows that violence only incites further violence but never establishes lasting peace,” he emphasized. He further noted that any permanent resolution to conflicts is possible only through dialogue and understanding. “Whether it is the Middle East or the Russia-Ukraine conflict, all these issues can be resolved solely through dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect,” the Dalai Lama explained.
He also called upon everyone to immediately cease violence and conflict, appealing through prayer and earnest request.
