US President Donald Trump stated that America would exit the Iran war within the next two to three weeks.
Referring to Iran’s inability to develop nuclear weapons for several years, Trump said he would bring his country out of the conflict.
Speaking to journalists in the Oval Office, Trump mentioned that Iran was “pleading for an agreement.” However, he also stated that according to the US schedule, it is now pointless.
Previously, Iranian President Masoud Padeshkian expressed that Tehran has the “necessary will” to end the war but emphasized that hostile nations must ensure the war does not reignite.
Trump’s Press Secretary, Karolin Levit, announced that the President will deliver a significant address regarding the Iran war on Wednesday night US time.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed that the US has been exchanging messages with Iran concerning the possibility of further conflict.
“Negotiations are ongoing,” he told Fox News. “There is always the possibility of direct talks. We remain ready for that.”
However, Trump has indicated he does not want to waste time on “false negotiations.” He declined to specify a timeline but added that the “final point has been reached.”
China and Pakistan’s Five-Point Proposal

China and Pakistan, who have taken a leading role in mediating for the end of the Iran war, have presented a five-point plan including an immediate ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
This draft was prepared after Pakistan’s Foreign Minister visited Beijing seeking support for their efforts to end the conflict.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated, “The two countries are making fresh efforts to advocate peace.”
China had remained silent on the Iran war until now. With large oil reserves in Beijing and no immediate shortages compared to other Asian countries, China’s primary concern has been the potential impact on its industrial sector as the conflict prolongs.
China requires a stable global economy for its exports and economic growth. With petrol prices rising continuously for a month, China has advanced mediation efforts.
Previously, China had attempted limited success in peace initiatives in the Middle East.
In 2023, China played a role in brokering a deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran, successfully restoring diplomatic relations between the two countries.
