NP Saud States Congress Suffers Major Loss Due to Neglect of Geopolitical and Domestic Issues

Kathmandu, 18 Chaitra – Nepali Congress leader NP Saud has stated that the party has suffered significant setbacks because it failed to effectively operate in a joint government formed by the first and second largest parties. Speaking at a discussion held on Wednesday under the leadership of outgoing acting chairperson Purna Bahadur Khadka, Saud emphasized that insufficient attention to certain geopolitical matters also contributed to Congress’s losses.

“We were unable to work together despite forming a coalition between the first and second parties,” he said. “There was a lack of focus on geopolitical issues as well as internal affairs of the country.” He further mentioned that the Election Commission granted official recognition without verification of the special convention. “We had the numbers, the government, and the majority, but we made mistakes,” he added. Saud described the current situation not as parallel activities but as internal conflict within the party.
