March 3, Kathmandu – The CPN-UML has affirmed that the party’s relationship with the Nepali Army, civil service, and international community remains unchanged and friendly.
According to Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatt, a secretariat meeting held on Friday at the party’s central office in Chyasal seriously discussed the address given by parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa in the House of Representatives session.
Thapa’s speech has sparked strong criticism within the party itself, as he alleged during his address that the success of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) as the leading party was due to the influence of the Nepali Army, civil servants, NGOs, and others.
Bhatt confirmed that the matter was thoroughly deliberated during the meeting.
“We had a serious discussion regarding the speech made by the parliamentary party leader during the House of Representatives session,” he stated.
Furthermore, the UML emphasized its intention to further strengthen its relations with the Nepali Army, civil servants, and the international community in the future.
“The meeting clearly stated that our party’s relations with the Nepali Army, other security agencies of the state, civil administration, and the international community, which have been established in accordance with the country’s constitution and existing laws, remain amicable and will be further strengthened moving forward,” Bhatt explained, providing details of the meeting’s decisions.
