Proposal on Distribution of Vehicle Tax Approved

March 5, Butwal – The Council of Ministers of Lumbini Province has made several decisions in its meeting held on Sunday. The meeting approved proposals regarding the limit of grants provided to local levels and the distribution of vehicle tax.

According to government spokesperson and Minister for Agriculture, Land Management, and Cooperatives Dinesh Panthi, the council has approved the proposals to determine the limits for financial equalization grants, supplementary grants, special grants, and conditional grants to be provided to local levels for the upcoming fiscal year 2083–84.

The meeting also approved the proposal on the distribution of vehicle tax collected within the province. Accordingly, the estimated amount of vehicle tax to be allocated to local levels in the fiscal year 2083/84 has been set at 145 million Nepalese rupees. Additionally, the provincial government has decided on further public and festival holidays for the year 2083 BS. Public holidays will be observed province-wide on the occasions of Haritalika Teej, Maghe Sankranti, Province Establishment Day, and Basant Panchami, while festivals such as Bhumya Puja, Badka Attwari, Bhagwati Jatra, and Magar Day will result in holidays for the respective communities.

Furthermore, the meeting delineated the jurisdiction areas of life-saving pesticide inspectors. Senior Crop Protection Officer Milan Gaire has been assigned pesticide inspector responsibilities for Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi (B.S.P.), Arghakhanchi, Palpa, and Gulmi districts. Officer Eliza Shrestha has been assigned pesticide inspection duties in Pyuthan, Rolpa, Rukum East, Banke, Bardiya, and Dang districts.
