Custody Extended for 76 Individuals Arrested for Hooliganism in Kathmandu

March 22, Kathmandu – The custody period has been extended for 76 individuals arrested during a two-day period on March 19 and 20 in Kathmandu for hooliganism and disorderly conduct. According to the District Police Office Kathmandu, the extension was granted by the District Court and the District Administration Office on Sunday.

SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Police Office, stated that among the 76 detainees, 70 are under investigation for disorderly behavior, three for organizing gambling, and three for robbery-related incidents. The police reported these individuals were arrested for engaging in acts that endangered public safety, including hooliganism, gambling, harassing passengers in the parking area of Tribhuvan International Airport, and soliciting obscene activities in public places targeting both locals and foreign nationals.
