23 Chaitra, Kathmandu – OnlineKhabar.com is set to publish the list of Nepal’s ‘50 Influential Women of 2082’ today.
Traditionally released around International Women’s Day (March 8), this year’s list was delayed due to the general elections held on 21 Falgun. This marks the third edition of the ‘50 Influential Women’ initiative by OnlineKhabar.
In a special event at The Plaza in Lalitpur, Acting Chief Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla will unveil the list of 50 influential women and present awards to them.
The list includes 50 representative, dedicated, and hardworking women from various sectors such as Nepali politics, society, arts and literature, culture, youth and sports, knowledge and science, entrepreneurship, and the diaspora.
Before finalizing the list, OnlineKhabar publicly invited nominations. Over 700 names were collected from the Central News Room in Kathmandu, correspondents across all seven provinces, and relevant experts and sources. From these, a jury panel headed by former Chief Justice Mira Khadka selected the 50 women.
Dharma Raj Bhusal, Chairman of OnlineKhabar Pvt Ltd, explained that the primary objective of the ’50 Influential Women’ selection is to recognize and honor women’s contributions across diverse sectors and publicly document their exceptional leadership as a national achievement.
