Stock Market Experiences Decline Amid Trading Activity

On Tuesday, the stock market fell by 2.61 points, with the NEPSE index stabilizing at 2757 points. The total trading volume reached NPR 673 crore, which is lower than the previous day’s NPR 1092 crore. While 82 companies saw their share prices increase, 175 companies experienced price declines. The hotel and tourism sector led the gains, rising by 1.08 percent. Kathmandu, 24 Chaitra.

The stock market dropped by 2.61 points on Tuesday following an 83-point rise the day before. After trading, the NEPSE index closed at 2757 points. Although the market gained in early trading, it declined somewhat after 11:50 AM. Within the first 10 minutes, NEPSE had climbed to 2792 points.

Trading volume decreased, with NPR 673 crore exchanged compared to NPR 1092 crore the previous day. More companies registered price drops than increases, with 82 companies appreciating in value while 175 declined, and 12 remained unchanged. Most sector indices declined, except for the hotel and tourism sector, which was up by 1.08 percent. Meanwhile, the trade sector experienced the largest drop of 1.88 percent.

The hydropower sector increased by 0.15 percent, other sectors by 0.71 percent, and banking by 0.04 percent. Conversely, non-life insurance dropped 0.33 percent, microfinance by 0.19 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.05 percent, life insurance by 0.45 percent, development banks by 0.62 percent, finance by 0.41 percent, and investment by 0.46 percent. Six companies’ shares rose by 10 percent. Those include Bhujung Hydropower, Super Khudi Hydropower, Swetganga Hydropower, Rizline Energy, Suryakund Hydro Electric, and Hotel Forest Inn. Trishuli Hydro Power’s share rose by 8.63 percent. Jhapa Energy experienced the largest decline of 3.96 percent. Among the most actively traded companies today were Ngadi Group, Reliance Spinning Mills, Aankhu Khola Hydropower, SY Panel, and National Hydropower.
