InDrive Announces Fuel Support Worth NPR 2.2 Million for Nepalese Drivers

InDrive has announced that it will provide fuel assistance worth NPR 2.2 million to its partner drivers. The company stated that this fuel support program will begin on Baishakh 2 (April 15). It also acknowledged that the recent increase in fuel prices has raised operational costs for drivers and adversely affected their earnings.

According to the company’s statement, “InDrive’s peer-to-peer model allows both passengers and drivers to directly determine the fare. This helps to set fair prices based on real market conditions and operational costs.” Through this initiative, the company aims to alleviate the financial pressure on drivers and help stabilize their income.

The expansion of ride-hailing services in Nepal has created employment opportunities for many drivers. Passengers have also benefited by accessing convenient and affordable transportation options. However, the ongoing rise in fuel prices has increased the drivers’ operational expenses, directly impacting their daily earnings.

The company emphasized that it takes the concerns and complaints of the driver community seriously and supports ongoing efforts to address structural issues within the transportation sector.
