24 Chaitra, Kathmandu – In the Eliminator match held Tuesday as part of the Himalayan Java National Basketball League (HJNB League) 2026, Times Basketball Club overcame KVC Hounds 76-68 to advance to the second qualifier. The match took place at the Dasarath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, where Times emerged victorious against Hounds.
On Thursday, Times will compete against GoldenGate Basketball Club in the second qualifier, aiming for a spot in the final. GoldenGate earned another chance to reach the final after losing to Tribhuvan Army Club in the first qualifier on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hounds have been eliminated from the league.
Times started strong in the first quarter with a 24-18 lead. The Hounds responded in the second quarter with an 18-12 run to tie the game at 36-36 by halftime. However, Times dominated the third quarter, scoring 21-12, to take a 57-48 lead heading into the final quarter. Despite the Hounds outscoring Times 20-19 in the last quarter, they could not prevent Times from clinching the win. During the league phase, Times finished third and Hounds fourth. The two teams split their head-to-head games, each winning once.
