Umesh Sapkota Arrested for Deceiving Women and Seizing Property

Umesh Sapkota from Kavrepalanchok has been arrested by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, on charges of enticing women and seizing their property. After obtaining an arrest warrant from the Dang District Court, he was taken into custody in Bhaktapur and transferred to the Tulshipur Police Station. Police have confirmed that the case was registered following allegations of coercion.

Police investigations reveal that Umesh Sapkota manipulated divorced women by gaining their trust and mortgaging immovable property in their names at banks to withdraw money. The 40-year-old Sapkota, a resident of Panauti Municipality-2, Kavrepalanchok, currently living in Srikhanda Pur, Dhulikhel Municipality-5, Mahakali group, reportedly promised assistance to women and then used deceitful tactics to seize their assets, according to the investigation.
