Six Members Appointed to the National Planning Commission

Chaitra 26, Kathmandu – The government has appointed six new members to the National Planning Commission. The appointed members include Arjun Jung Thapa, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Acharya, Dr. Devendra Gauchan, Reshu Aryal, Prof. Dr. Sudan Jha, and Dr. Pukar Malla. Member Thapa is a former Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, while Prof. Dr. Acharya serves as a professor of economics at Tribhuvan University.

Additionally, Dr. Gauchan is a senior fellow at the Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS). Aryal is an educationist who previously served as an advisor during Balen Shah’s tenure as mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Prof. Dr. Jha is a professor of computer science and engineering at Kathmandu University, and Dr. Malla is the co-founder and chairperson of the Governance Lab as well as an executive coach at Nepal Leadership Academy. Earlier, the government had appointed Dr. Gunakar Bhatt as the vice-chair of the National Planning Commission.
