Over 73,000 People Affected by Floods Following Heavy Rainfall in Afghanistan

Kathmandu, April 10 – In the past two weeks, floods caused by heavy rainfall in Afghanistan have impacted tens of thousands of people. According to United Nations data, from March 26 to April 6, Afghanistan experienced extremely heavy rainfall. The resulting floods have submerged hundreds of villages and affected more than 73,000 individuals. Over 9,000 homes have been damaged by the floods. Additionally, agricultural crops and land have been completely destroyed, posing a serious threat to food security in the affected regions.
