
The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) has decided not to participate in the election for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. The ruling coalition, including the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa), has chosen to support Rubi Kumari Thakur of the Labour Culture Party. Raswapa, along with the Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal, has decided to vote in favor of Rubi Kumari Thakur. March 27, Kathmandu.
CPN-UML announced its decision to abstain from the upcoming election for the Deputy Speaker. After Raswapa, a ruling party with nearly a two-thirds majority, decided to back Rubi Kumari Thakur of the Labour Culture Party, UML resolved to cast a ‘no vote’ in the election scheduled for today. Alongside Raswapa and the Labour Culture Party, the Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal have also agreed to support Thakur.
The election for the Deputy Speaker post is contested between Saraswati Lama of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Rubi Kumari Thakur of the Labour Culture Party.
