Twelve Football Training Centre Launches Summer Football Camp 2026

The Twelve Football Training Centre, operated by former captain of the Nepal national football team Viraj Maharjan and goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu, has commenced its Summer Football Camp 2026. The camp is being held at Nepal Sports Fellowship Ground in Satdobato and will run until Baishakh 5, with 61 students aged between 4 and 16 participating. The camp aims to engage students in football by keeping them away from gadgets and plans to award scholarships to two trainees.

On the first day of the camp, all 61 students took part. Students often spend extended periods during holidays watching electronic devices such as phones, laptops, and televisions, which can have long-term negative effects on their physical and mental health. With this in mind, the camp has been organized to encourage students to stay away from gadgets for some time.

The primary focus of the camp is to improve the mental and physical health of the students while fostering early interest in football, one of Nepal’s most popular sports. Children aged 4 to 16 are grouped according to age for the training sessions. Alongside Viraj Maharjan, other highly qualified coaches certified by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are involved as trainers.

Goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu was absent from the camp today as he was participating in the Tribhuvan Army Football Club’s match against Jhapa 11 in the Birat Gold Cup. The training will be provided throughout the camp duration, following a development plan designed for the all-round growth of the children. The official inauguration of the Twelve Football Training Centre Summer Football Camp 2026 was conducted by Vikram Lama, president of the Nepal Football Players Association and former national player, and Suraj Magar, managing director of Ages.
