Talks Scheduled in the US on Tuesday to End Ongoing Israel-Lebanon Conflict

March 12, Kathmandu – In an effort to end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon, a meeting mediated by the United States is scheduled for Tuesday. Representatives from both warring countries will convene in the US, according to Lebanon’s presidential office. The talks will focus on discussions of a ceasefire and a peace process between Israel and Hezbollah. The office of President Joseph Aoun has also confirmed that both parties will meet in the US. The main agenda of the talks is to declare a ceasefire and announce dates for subsequent negotiations between Israel and Lebanon.

On Saturday, the ambassadors of Lebanon and Israel held telephone discussions aimed at organizing the meeting to establish a ceasefire. Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Interior Minister Ahmad Hajar emphasized that the country’s primary goal is to achieve a ceasefire. “We are committed to pursuing a ceasefire and are prepared to go anywhere necessary to achieve it,” he said. “We are actively working to ensure the security, peace, and stability of the country.” Minister Hajar also highlighted that Lebanon is working with utmost seriousness through diplomatic channels. He made these remarks following an on-site inspection of the Israeli attack in Beirut on Wednesday.
