Mumbai, who were chasing a target of 241 runs, could manage only 222 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Despite Sherfane Rutherford’s top score of 71 runs off 31 balls, Mumbai was unable to secure victory.
Mumbai’s captain Hardik Pandya scored 40 runs, while Ryan Rickelton made 37 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 runs. Bengaluru’s Suyash Sharma took two wickets, with Jacob Duffy, Rasikh Salam, and Krunal Pandya each taking one wicket. Losing the toss, Bengaluru chose to bat first and posted 240 runs for four wickets in 20 overs.
The top three batsmen all scored half-centuries. Phil Salt hit 78 runs from 36 balls, including 6 fours and 6 sixes. Captain Rajat Patidar added 53 runs from 20 balls, striking 4 fours and 5 sixes. Virat Kohli scored 50 runs, while Tim David finished his innings with 34 runs off 16 balls. For Mumbai, Trent Boult, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell Santner, and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each. With this win, Bengaluru has gathered six points from four matches and is placed third on the points table, while Mumbai, suffering their third defeat, remain eighth with two points.
