Kathmandu, 6th Baisakh – The National Independent Party (Raswapa) is concentrating its efforts on the forthcoming local elections. As part of this initiative, the party is in the process of forming candidate clubs specifically for local election aspirants. According to party spokesperson Manish Jhaka, a meeting of the party’s central committee will be held on Monday to make decisions on this matter. The meeting will take place at the party’s central office located at Ghantighar, Banasthali, Kathmandu.
The agenda includes discussions on the formation of local-level candidate clubs and the process for inviting applications. Raswapa is advancing the concept of these candidate clubs as part of its preparation for candidate selection in the upcoming local elections. Party leaders have emphasized that the clubs will focus specifically on candidates contesting at the local government level.
Individuals interested in contesting for positions at the local government level will be able to register their names with the candidate clubs. This includes positions such as ward chairperson, municipality head, and executive roles. The concept of candidate clubs was initially proposed by the party chairman, Ravi Lamichhane, during a central and parliamentary party meeting held in Mahottari from December 11 to 13, 2022. The party is now working to implement this concept, with its primary goal being to inform prospective candidates about their responsibilities once in office.
