
Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader and former minister Vikram Pandey was arrested on Friday by Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau for allegedly hacking the e-bidding website. Pandey is a senior leader and vice chairman of the RPP and was elected as a Member of Parliament from Chitwan Constituency No. 3 in the 2079 BS election.
In 2075 BS, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against him for substandard work in the Sikta Irrigation Project, following which he was released after paying a bail of four crore rupees. Police have stated that Pandey was arrested on allegations of hacking the e-bidding website to secure a favorable contract.
