The Rasuwa District Sports Development Committee honored Dawa Tamang, a resident of Ward 1, Kalika Rural Municipality, and his two daughters, Diya and Diksha. Prabhat Tamang presented the awards at the closing ceremony of the 13th Rasuwa District Level Presidential Running Shield Sports Competition.
Dawa earned a silver medal in the 80-kilometer Manjushree Trail Race. The family was recognized for their contributions in bringing recognition to the district through sports. Dawa has competed in various national and international trail races. The elder daughter, Diya, won a silver medal in the under-14 age group at the South Asian Karate Competition held in Sri Lanka, while the younger daughter, Diksha, secured a bronze medal in the under-10 age group at the same competition. Dawa himself comes from a karate background.
