Fopli in Pyuthan Records Highest Rainfall in 24 Hours; More Rain Expected Today

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported cloudy conditions across various parts of the country due to the combined effects of western and local winds. Over the past 24 hours, Fopli in Pyuthan district recorded 97.6 millimeters of rainfall, according to departmental data. Today, rainfall and snowfall are expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Meteorologists have indicated that eastern Nepal may experience heavier rainfall today compared to yesterday. Continuous rainfall has been reported for over an hour in Juwali of Chitwan, Dumkauli of Nawalpur, Udayapur Gadhi of Udayapur, and Damauli of Tanahun. Besides Fopli in Pyuthan’s 97.6 mm measurement, Lamjung’s Faleni area recorded 88.2 mm of rain.

Saturday evening’s rainfall caused flooding in several parts of Kavre district, leading to the implementation of multiple diversions on the BP Highway. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast Division, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm is likely today in some locations of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with snowfall expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
