An 87-year-old man, Neru Prasad Ghimire, was found dead at the riverbed in the Bhedabari area of Harpukot, Isma Rural Municipality-1, Gulmi. Ghimire had left home on the morning of April 25 (Baisakh 12) saying he was going to pick amala but did not return; his body was discovered the following morning, April 26 (Baisakh 13), at the riverbed.
A team led by Police Inspector Parbat Kumar KC from the District Police Office Gulmi arrived at the scene to conduct further investigation. The search for Ghimire commenced after he failed to return home; relatives and locals had been looking for him since then. He had left his home around 7 am on April 25 stating his intention to gather amala.
The police reported that Ghimire’s body was found lying face down at the riverbed at approximately 8 am on April 26. Upon receiving the information, a two-person team commanded by Police Havildar Radhe Shyam Yadav from the Hastichaur Police Post was dispatched to the site immediately.
