Successful Rescue of Injured Climber During Dhaulagiri Mountain Expedition

April 26, Myagdi — A climber who was injured during an expedition on Dhaulagiri Mountain in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4, Myagdi, was successfully rescued after two days. While descending from Dhaulagiri, which stands at 8,167 meters, the 21-year-old climber, Mingma Tenji Sharma from Makalu Rural Municipality-2, Sankhuwasabha, slipped about 400 meters near the summit on Friday morning and sustained serious injuries.

Furu Tenji Sherpa of 14 Summit Expedition, who was involved in the rescue, stated, “We coordinated with the base camp and deployed rescuers from the upper camp, bringing Mingma down to the base camp late Saturday night.” He added, “Although she was found unconscious, her health condition is now significantly improving.”
