Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Meets Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow

April 27, Kathmandu – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who traveled to Russia from Pakistan, held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to the Russian news agency TASS, the discussion between the two leaders is still ongoing. TASS reported that Putin praised the Iranian people for their courageous struggle for sovereignty and expressed his belief that peace will be established in Iran once these difficult circumstances are overcome.
During the meeting, Putin remarked to Araghchi, “Russia will make every possible effort to bring peace to the Middle East as soon as possible.” Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi described the relationship between Russia and Iran as a strategic partnership and expressed hope that it would grow stronger in the coming days. The meeting was also attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Kremlin presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, and the head of Russian intelligence agency Igor Kostyukov. From the Iranian side, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi and Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali were present.
