Nepali Communist Party Decides to Appoint 50 Percent Youth Leadership Across All Committees

The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has resolved to ensure that 50 percent of leadership positions in all party committees are held by youth. The party has devised a plan to complete its restructuring process before the upcoming general convention. The NCP also decided to take initiatives in support of nationalism, the federal democratic republic, and the constitution. Kathmandu, 15 Baisakh.

In today’s meeting of the NCP Central Coordination Committee, the decision was made to appoint 50 percent youth leadership in every party committee. At the conclusion of the meeting, Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” presented a four-point framework of the immediate plan. A party official confirmed that the proposal was approved by the committee.

The first point in Prachanda’s plan involves party restructuring. It includes “completing the party restructuring process with ideological, political, organizational, and cultural clarity by the time of the general convention.” The second point highlights forming elected committees at every level of the party. “From ward to central levels, small, efficient, and elected committees will be formed, with up to 50 percent youth and young leaders in leadership roles,” explained the official.

Alongside party restructuring, the plan emphasizes leftist unity and consolidation aimed at reorganizing the entire communist movement. Additionally, the NCP has agreed to work toward a common understanding among forces that support the constitution and the federal democratic republic, taking initiatives in favor of nationalism, federal democracy, and the constitution. The party also intends to advance strategically at ideological, political, and diplomatic levels internationally, as another official disclosed.
