10th Rara Pokhara Sports Awards Scheduled for 31st Baisakh, Honors to Be Given in 9 Categories

The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum Gandaki has announced that the 10th Rara Pokhara Sports Awards–2082 will be held on Baisakh 31. The awards ceremony will recognize achievements across nine different categories. The event’s main sponsor is Rara Tayari Chow Chow, with co-sponsorship from Gurung Jewelry House and Nelambo Nepal.

Originally planned for Baisakh 18, the event was postponed to Baisakh 31 due to special reasons, as announced at a press conference on Wednesday. According to the Forum president, Man Bahadur Ghartimagar (MB Aastha), the ceremony will take place at the Pokhara Event Center. Awards will be presented for Male Player of the Year, Female Player of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Emerging Player, Best Coach, Best Sports Association/Club, Special Award, and Best Sports Journalist, totaling nine categories.

This year, the People’s Choice Award and Special Award have been added. Gurung Jewelry House sponsors the People’s Choice Award, while Nelambo Nepal sponsors the Special Award. Since its inception in 2072 BS, the Forum has continuously organized this awards program with the objective of fostering overall development in the sports sector and boosting athlete morale.

To ensure the event’s grandeur, a main organizing committee has been formed under the leadership of President Ghartimagar. The committee’s co-vice presidents are Rajaram Paudel and Uma Ale. This year, the primary sponsor is Himalshree Foods Pvt. Ltd.’s Rara Tayari Chow Chow, with co-sponsorship from Gurung Jewelry House and Kelmi Nepal. Khalti Digital Wallet serves as the voting partner, and Plaza Hotel Group acts as the hospitality partner. The program has received support from the Gandaki Provincial Government, Gandaki Provincial Sports Council, Pokhara Metropolitan City, various local bodies, and organizations abroad.
