Parliamentary Committee Decides to Conduct On-Site Inspection of Holding Centers for Homeless Residents

April 23, Kathmandu – The Parliamentary Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights under the House of Representatives has decided to conduct on-site inspections of holding centers housing homeless individuals. In its recent meeting, the committee resolved to undertake visits to various shelter centers across the Kathmandu Valley where displaced and homeless populations reside, aiming to gain an accurate understanding of the current human rights conditions of these marginalized and unorganized residents.
During the meeting held last Monday, lawmakers proposed observing the current status of human rights for the homeless and disorganized residents. Acting on this proposal, the committee has now committed to conducting detailed inspections of the relevant holding centers.
