First Sighting of Venomous King Cobra in Gadhwa

The king cobra, considered the world’s largest venomous snake, has been sighted for the first time in Gadhwa. The snake was found in the house of Sushila, a resident of Gadhwa Rural Municipality–7, Lakshinpur. Snake rescuer Shivu Khanal rescued the snake from the house at 8 PM on Wednesday night. The Division Forest Office Deukhuri was informed immediately after the sighting.

Following the report, two forest officers arrived at the scene under Khanal’s leadership. After an hour of efforts, Khanal confirmed that the snake was safely captured alive. The snake was later released in the Ajammari Community Forest of Lamahi Municipality–5. According to rescuer Khanal, the snake weighed approximately 8 kilograms and measured 10 feet in length.
