Bichuten Data Volt Announces Nepal’s First Tier-4 Hyperscale Data Center Construction

Bichuten Data Volt has announced the construction of Nepal’s first Tier-4 hyperscale data center. The facilities will be established in Kathmandu and Birgunj, with plans to expand capacity up to 5 megawatts by 2030. The company aims to ensure 99.995% uptime, targeting the advancement of Nepal’s digital sovereignty and a secure future.

This project for Nepal is being spearheaded by entrepreneurs Naveen Agrawal, Meen Agrawal (Fair Group), Anuj Kiyal (Kiyal Group), Vishalkumar Jatia, and Sharad Goyal. The company has committed to elevating Nepal’s digital infrastructure to international standards and strengthening the nation’s data security.

The international-standard initiative claims to limit technical outages to less than 26 minutes annually, guaranteeing 99.995% uptime. The data centers will be strategically located in Kathmandu and Birgunj. Initially, the capacity will start at 240 kilowatts with a future expansion plan to 5 megawatts by 2030. To support technology and expertise, strategic partnerships have been established with major tech companies including VVDN, Google Cloud, AMD, and Micron.
