
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police have taken action against more than 200 drivers for indiscriminate honking as part of a special campaign. Deputy Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Suvedi informed that drivers were educated on traffic regulations and raised awareness about the ‘No Horn’ policy. Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police Navaraj Adhikari also announced plans to make the campaign more effective in the coming days. Kathmandu, 26th Baishakh.
To curb increasing noise pollution and improve traffic management in the Kathmandu Valley, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office conducted a special campaign today in which over 200 drivers were penalized for unnecessary honking. Traffic police maintained special surveillance across major roads, busy intersections, and high-traffic areas within the valley, detaining and penalizing drivers violating traffic rules and honking without cause, said DSP Nareshraj Suvedi, spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
During the campaign, drivers were informed about traffic rules, the importance of safe travel, and the ‘No Horn’ awareness initiative. Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police Navaraj Adhikari, the chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, stated that efforts will continue to increase the effectiveness of this ongoing campaign. According to him, special monitoring has been intensified in sensitive areas, near schools, hospital zones, and crowded roads throughout the Kathmandu Valley.
