Nepali Congress Commits to Enhancing Effectiveness of Public Representatives in Sudurpaschim

The Nepali Congress has adopted 15 resolutions through a provincial-level dialogue in Sudurpaschim, pledging to make local governments more citizen-centric and accountable. The party urged the federal government to prioritize humanity in law enforcement and simplify public services. Additionally, it committed to implementing special programs to ensure safe resettlement and livelihood for landless Dalits, squatters, and families living in vulnerable areas.
April 10, Kathmandu – The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has appealed to the central government to act with greater humanity and committed to working effectively in local bodies under its leadership. These 15 resolutions were passed at a Sudurpaschim provincial dialogue organized by the Central Policy Research and Training Institute over two days in Dhangadhi, Kailali. Representatives elected from the Congress expressed their commitment to working as accountable and effective governments through citizen-focused policies at the local level.
A decision was made to send a message to the federal government to place humanity at the core of law enforcement. Local governments led by the Congress pledged continuous efforts through their policies and programs to make activities at the local level citizen-friendly, good governance-oriented, and results-driven. Special emphasis was placed on respecting the dignity of citizens, especially when managing landless Dalits, squatters, and unorganized residents.
